We give people and communities the skills and permission to be fearless…
The best ideas rarely fail because people do not care enough. They stall because organisations are navigating limited capacity, complex systems, uncertain funding or the fear of getting something wrong.
Dauntless helps people move forward.
We work with commissioners, charities, faith communities and grassroots organisations to turn ambition into practical, sustainable action. We bring together strategy, programme design, training, organisational development and fundraising, but we never arrive with a finished answer and ask communities to approve it.
Our work is designed with the people who will deliver it, use it and live with its consequences. We treat professional expertise, community knowledge and lived experience as equally important. That means codesign from the beginning, visible influence throughout and a clear account of what changed because people took part.
We are comfortable working where the route is not yet obvious. We can help define the problem, build the partnership, develop the model, equip the people, secure the resources and create the structures that enable good work to continue.
Commissioners get more than a report or a set of recommendations. They get a committed delivery partner who understands how to make change work in practice.
Below are some examples of how we put these values into practice through our current work.
The Virtual Mentoring Academy
We are developing mental-health learning for volunteer mentors across London, helping trusted adults respond confidently, safely and inclusively to the young people they support.
The Virtual Mentoring Academy translates complex knowledge about trauma, neurodiversity, emotional regulation, safeguarding and professional boundaries into practical tools that mentors can use in real situations. Its purpose is not to turn volunteers into amateur clinicians. It is to help them become safer, steadier and more confident adults who know how to listen, when to act and when to seek specialist support.
The programme is codesigned with paid experts by lived experience. Their insight challenges assumptions, strengthens scenarios and helps ensure that the finished training reflects the realities of young people whose experiences are too often misunderstood, including neurodiverse, LGBTQIA+, care-experienced and Global Majority young people.
Second Chapter Trust
Second Chapter Trust began with a bold ambition: to help people leaving prison break cycles of homelessness, crime and social exclusion by combining safe accommodation with therapeutic and practical support.
Dauntless is helping turn that ambition into an operational charity.
Working alongside the founders and trustees, we have developed the organisation’s strategy and mobilisation plan, supported its governance and charitable registration, built its policy and safeguarding infrastructure, shaped its financial model and created a phased route from early interventions in prisons and the community towards supported housing and long-term sustainability.
Codesign sits at the centre of this work. People with direct experience of prison and resettlement are being invited to shape the service alongside criminal justice professionals, grassroots organisations and statutory partners. Their expertise will inform the referral pathway, the first 48 hours after release, staff recruitment, safeguarding, resident induction and the everyday behaviours needed to make supported housing feel like a home rather than another institution.
This is more than consultancy from a distance. It is practical incubation: bringing together strategy, governance, partnerships, systems and lived experience so that an emerging organisation can move confidently from a powerful idea towards safe, credible and sustainable delivery.
Strategic Fundraising Support
Fundraising works best when it begins with the difference an organisation wants to make, not with the application form.
We help communities turn important but sometimes complex ambitions into credible, fundable projects. That means working alongside the people involved to clarify the need, test the plans, build the case for support and connect the right funding opportunities to a realistic route through delivery.
At Haverhill Methodist Church, we supported fundraising for a replacement lift that will improve access to the church’s community facilities. This immediate priority sits within a wider conversation about the future of the site, including expanded community space, improved access and facilities that better reflect how the church and local community want to use the buildings. By listening to the church, recognising the expertise already present and helping distinguish the urgent next step from the longer-term redevelopment, we built a focused fundraising proposition without losing sight of the bigger vision.
Our work with Bishopsland has involved developing funding cases for an ambitious heritage and education project centred on the future of British silversmithing. The proposed Intelligent Hands Education Suite will transform a Grade II listed stable into an accessible learning environment, including specialist teaching facilities and a climate-controlled library protecting more than 3,000 rare silversmithing tools. We have helped connect the preservation of a vulnerable heritage craft with education, public engagement, environmental responsibility and the development of the next generation of makers.
We do not impose a standard fundraising story from outside. We work with trustees, practitioners, volunteers, users and community partners to understand what is genuinely needed, identify the assets already available and develop a proposition that people recognise as their own. This is how we help organisations unlock the next step: not by chasing funding in isolation, but by bringing the vision, evidence, people, delivery plan and investment together.
Could we help unlock your next step?
Every project begins somewhere different.
You may need to turn an early idea into a clear strategy, involve communities meaningfully in designing a service, build a programme or workforce, strengthen an organisation or develop a credible proposition for investment. We will help you understand what is needed, recognise the strengths and resources already available, and identify a practical route forward.
